International Women’s Day: a celebration of respect, appreciation, and love towards women. Dating over a century back, this day esteems women for their social, political, and economic achievements. Names the likes of Emmeline Pankhurst (fighter for Women’s Suffrage), Evita Peron (founder of the Female Peronist Party), Mother Teresa (founder of the Missionaries of Charity), and Benazir Bhutto (the first woman elected to run a Muslim state) arise and are met with utmost reverence and admiration.

These women, among others, strived to protect and foster the interests of females all over the world and have thus contributed immensely to the move towards a more integrated and equal society. These women have paved the way toward a society in which women are given their due rights in the workplace and in the household, and are not subjected to gender discrimination or bias.
